ca. 2008 - November 2016. Spotted in WalMart parking lot.
To be fair, plenty of other cars have the same issues at 7-8 years. (Looking at you Nissan - it’s almost criminal that I’ve seen Juke’s that look like this already while the same generation is still in showrooms.) But it seems out of place to me for a Toyota product, even a lower-end one. Also, I find it odd that such a basic econobox included indicators on the wing mirrors.

Your clear coat lasted longer than some VW clear coat. Are you going to leave it as is, or paint it? Is the xD fun to drive?

If it was just the hood, I would agree with you... fixing collision damage - but why would you respect the whole car?

Trust me, Scions clear coats are garbage. I’m having mine resprayed for the same reason right now, and my TC is an 09.

My dad’s 2009 Kia Spectra is losing clear coat on the door handles already (and it was like that when he bought it in 2013) which makes me terrified for the paint on my new-to-me 2013 Soul.
That said, I’ve never seen a Soul with a failing clear coat, and they started production in ‘09, so....
Still, as long as my girlfriend and I are house/apartment shopping, I’m going to keep shooting down every place without a garage or at least covered parking.
